הודעה מדיוויד קופר, נשיא הקהילה בממפיס, בה משפחת גולדברג היתה בשליחות שלוש שנים. נשיא הקהילה שלח עם הישמע דבר הבשורה הקשה.
Dear Rachel,
There are no words.
But I know Rabbi Avi was one of the most pure souls, one of the kindest, most loving, most genuine, most warm and most sincere people I have ever known.
With an infectious smile that lifted all around him, Rabbi Avi had a distinct and special glow about him that always inspired those who came in contact with him.
And I know he was that to you and your children 100 times over.
His love for you and your beloved children magnified out through his smile when next to y’all.
We are all so entirely devastated.
During this horrific past almost 13 months, I often traded voice notes with him before Shabbat or a chag.
I have to share with you his last message to me responding to my good wishes for Sukkot- which he left back to me just over a week ago right after the first day of Sukkot.
His own words reflect so much about him.
It follows this message.
And sending so much love from Memphis and I am certain just a tiny piece of embrace for you and your family that I share with people from all over the world who knew Rabbi Avi and love you and your family so very very much.
We are all with you but I know again, there just are no words to adequately and appropriately convey to you the depths of our sadness for you and your family.
Rabbi Avi’s words follow.
Love,
David cooper
